10 SPIRITUAL PROBLEMS OF PEOPLE WHO DON'T PAY TITHE

Prosperity in the kingdom is linked to tithing.  Tithing can be traced back to our Patriarch Abraham whom it was written that he pay tithe to Melchizedek.  So tithing is not something new “Bring your full tithe to the temple treasury so there will be ample provisions in my temple.  Test me in this and see if I don’t open up heaven itself to you and pour you out blessings beyond your widest dreams.” [Mal 3:10] MSG   There are some people who doesn’t subscribe to the concept of tithing because they don’t believe what the scripture says about tithing or they might probably have heard it from a respectable personality that ‘paying tithe is useless’ or it could also be that person has made up his or her mind not to pay tithe.  This is what we called spiritual problem.

These are some of them:

§     Not paying tithe is considered as disloyalty.  Loyalty to a vision is measured by the money people contribute to a project/vision.  Paying tithe shows how loyal you are to a person/church.  In the church, all the facilities that you see; AC, light, pulpit, chairs, speakers, drums etc are bought with money.  It can be tithe money or offering.  Disloyal people always have a problem with money.  They murmur when others are giving money to the servant of God.  These are the disloyal ones.  “If you are pastor and you are not allowing your members to pay tithe, you are ignorantly sowing seeds of disloyalty in them.”  Bishop Dag

§     People do not pay tithe because they are rebellious.  “I prefer a church full of tithers than a church full of fund raisers” Dag Heward Mills  [1 Sam 15:21 – 22]

§     When you don’t encourage tithing, you encourage greed.  Now everybody is thinking about their own self because they didn’t learn the act of giving – before you realize you have raised a congregation of greedy people.  [Pro 1:19]

§     You nurture unspiritual people.  People who are not moved by the things of God “To be carnally minded is death…” Rom 8:6

§     You create a collection of immature people.

§     You encourage people not to believe in the bible.   Heb 3:12

§     You encourage backsliding.  Consider this: how can you do the work of evangelism without money? “But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry” 2Tim 4:5

§     Ignorance.  Those who don’t pay tithe are considered as ignorant.  “Truly, these times of ignorance God overlocked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent.”  [Act 17:30] So let every man repent from the habit of not paying tithe knowing that there is a great blessing in tithing.

§     When you don’t allow people to pay tithe, you encourage the spirit of fear.  “I was afraid I might disappoint you, so I found a good hiding place to secured your money. Here it is, safe and sound down to the last cent. [Matt 25:25]

§     When you don’t pay tithe or you don’t allow people to pay tithe, you allow offences.  When people stop paying tithe, it may be that they are offended about something.  If you a man of God you must allow offences to stay in your heart.  You must forgive and move on.

NOTE THE FOLLOWING ARGUMENT ABOUT TITHING:

1.    Malachi prophesied TO ISRAEL only, that God said it was the NATION that robbed Him by not tithing. How could we rob God today when He never commanded us to tithe?  So meaning the gentile churches (Christians) should not concern themselves with tithing. What do you think about it?

2.      Tithing was commanded under the law. According to the law of covenant, God would bless Israel in their LAND for obedience, but He would curse them for disobedience BUT AS PAUL WROTE, WE ARE NOT UNDER LAW so indirectly Christians are exempted from tithing. (see Deut. 28).

3.      The storehouse was certainly not a local church. It was a literal chamber in the temple where they stored the grain, etc…

4.      Opening the windows of heaven had to do with rain for their crops. [ISRAEL]

     5. The apostle Paul never mentions tithing in his thirteen epistles to the Body of Christ. 😲 He taught grace giving, which is very different from tithing (2 Cor. 9:7).
