THE BLESSEDNESS OF HOLINESS

There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was blameless and upright, and one who feared God and shunned evil.”                           Job 1:1

According to the above scriptures, holiness means walking in close contact with God in truth and uprightness; keeping yourself from evil. It is very important that we all live a holy life because holiness makes all things in your life beautiful. When a man is living a right with God, all things work in his favor.
Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. “                                      2Cor 7:1

WHY MUST I BE HOLY
There are quite reasons why we must be holy. The holy scriptures state emphatically that we should be holy because God is holy.
“Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord” Heb 12:14   Holiness is the only ticket to heaven. It’s not once saved forever save! You cannot continue in sin and expect to be with God (who is clothed in holiness) in your filthiness with the mindset that you are saved. The following point highlight why you must live a holy life.

Ø  To be able to approach God and have all your needs met.
“Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; nor His ear heavy, that it cannot hear. But your iniquities have separated you from God; and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear.” Isaiah 59:1-2
So the secret is out! Sin is what hinders you from flourishing. Sin is what block your blessings. Sin is what separate us from God! I believe the reasons why your prayers have not been answered all this while is because of sin. Do a review of your life and repent from your sins.

Ø  To block the devil from having access to bring destruction to your life. When you engage in sin, you attract the devil because he is the prince of evil. Sin attract the devil, holiness attract God. When Satan wants to block your blessings, he brings sin to your life in order to make you powerless. See Numbers 25

Ø  Holiness is a lifestyle of every believer. “And that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.” Eph 4:34

Ø  To blessed by God.  There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was blameless and upright, and one who feared God and shunned evil. And seven sons and three daughters were born to him. Also, his possessions were seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five thousand yoke of oxen, five hundred female donkeys, and a very large households, so that this man was the greatest of all the people of the east”      Job 1:1-3

Job was a holy man yet he was blessed with possessions and his wealth surpasses all those in the east. Many people think that you cannot be rich when you live a holy life; God is the richest Man in the world so is it hard for him to bless those who love him and keep his word? Certainly not!  See Psalm 24:1-5

                        BLESSINGS OF HOLINESS
·         It is the highway to heaven. “Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord.” Hebrews 12:14

·         Holiness positions you on the narrow way. Pay every price to be holy. Matthew 7:14

·         Holiness brings you into partnership with God. All the things are in God so if you are not living a holy life then you are in partnership with Satan & demons.  But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.” Daniel 1:8

·         Holiness will give you a place among the saint. See Zechariah 3:1-5

WHAT MUST I DO TO LIVE A HOLY LIFE

·         Make heaven your ultimate goal in life. Don’t rejoice that you have a car, don’t rejoice that you have a house, don’t rejoice that you have a business but rejoice that your name is written in the book of life.
See Luke 10:17-20

·         Crucify your flesh. Don’t let your feelings control you, control your feelings. See Col 3:5-10,     1Cor 9:27       Rom 8:13-14

·         Allow the word of God to bath you every day. “That he might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word.  Eph 5:26

·         Pray in the Holy Ghost and let your spirit take over the flesh.
