THINK TWICE!

1)      Think twice if the person you want to marry has not accepted the Lord Jesus as His personal savior.  “Do not unequally yoked together with unbelievers.  For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness?  And what communion has light darkness?”  2 Cor 6:14

2)      Think twice if they do not have a genuine source of income.  “For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: if anyone will not work, neither shall he eat.  For we hear that there are some who walk among you in a disorderly manner, not working at all, but are busybodies.”  2Thes 3:10-11

3)      Think twice if they want to keep the relationship a secret.  “You are the light of the world.  A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.” Matt 5:14 Every relationship should come to the limelight; your relatives should know about it.

4)      Think twice if they are spiritually, mentally, financially, socially, emotionally and sexually immature.

5)      Think twice if the other person thinks he/she is doing you a favour.  Don’t marry out of sympathy.

6)      Think twice if they treat the favour of others with contempt.  Think twice if they are ungrateful.

7)      Think twice if spending time with them is a burden.

8)      Think twice if they show complete disregard for God and the significant people in your life.  Honour people and they will also honour you.

9)      Think twice if they completely dishonor their parent.  “Children obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.  Honour your father and mother, which is the first commandment with promise:  That it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth.”  [Eph 6:1-3 ].  As a young girl because a certain guy told you “I love you” so you are go about disrespecting your parents….Are you alright?  One way to attract curses into your life is dishonouring your parents!

10)  Think twice if they do not admire and respect the man of God they sit under.  “Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account.  Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you.”  [Heb 10:17]

11)  Think twice if they dishonor the laws of the land.  “Bondservants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh, not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but in sincerity of heart, fearing God.  And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men.” Col 3:22 – 23

12)  Think twice if their parent don’t approve the union.  Once their parent doesn’t like you, nothing you do will please them.

13)  Think twice if they have compulsive anger issue.  Anger, just like any bad habit can be controlled but if there is no self-control, then it is deadly. “Make no friendship with an angry man, and with a furious man do not go.”  Pro 22:24

14)  Think twice if they show signs of unfaithfulness or disloyalty.

15)  Think twice if they are preparing for wedding and not marriage.

16)  Think twice if they have problem with forgiveness.  Forgiveness is the basis of love; the people we love the most are the same people who will hurt you the most.  Once you understand this, you will be prepared for anything that might come your way in the relationship.

17)  Think twice if they have trust issues.

18)  Think twice if they have quarrelsome, contentious behavior.  “Better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and angry woman” Pro 21:19  see also: Pro 25:24,  Pro 27:15
